Special Briefing: South Africa Election

Tuesday 21 May @ 1630hrs BST (London) / 1130hrs EDT (New York)

On 29 May, South Africa will hold a general election. For the first time since the end of the Apartheid in 1994, the ruling ANC party is unlikely to secure a majority. A potential coalition between the ANC and various opposition parties will significantly elevate policy risk, while the election itself will elevate risks of moderate pre-election violence.
