BRIEFING: Niger Coup: Discussion of Scenarios and Implications

Since the Presidential Guard seized President Mohamed Bazoum on 26 July, tensions with the West and the democratic governments of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have escalated significantly. ECOWAS has threatened to intervene militarily if Bazoum is not reinstated, and France has refused a junta demand for its forces within Niger to withdraw. Join Sibylline analysts Benedict Manzin and Megan Sutcliffe with host Gareth Westwood to discuss scenarios and their likely impact.
